One day when I was was walking in the park, I noticed many plastic bags and bottles littered under the benches. So I picked them up and put it in the bin. After that, I told the people who were in the park not to litter the park or anywhere else.
I thought I had put a stop to that. But when I came back the next day it was littered even more. So I put up posters all around the park that said “No Littering! Have a clean park”. I made it with signs that said no plastic and so on.
A little girl saw me putting up these posters and asked me why I was doing so. I told her about people littering the place and not picking it up. And she told me this story. She said, “Once I was in the seashore and I found a little plastic in the ground, so I picked it up and went to the bin and was about to throw it when I noticed tiny turtle trapped because the plastic was tied on him. So I untied him and let him into the water and threw the plastic bag into the dustbin.”
Then I realised that she too was trying to stop people from littering the Earth. So I decided that we had to work together to make this happen. The girl’s name was Tanishka. Some of her friends used to call her Talkative Tanishka because of how much she used to talk about recycling that all her friends did not care about.
We both thought about various plans. Then I found a plan that hit the dot. We decided to invent a PlasticCycler. We first got a vacuum cleaner and fixed a sensor that can sense plastic inside the pipe. Then we put a box that opens automatically when the “beep” comes from the sensor to collect and empty the plastic. We put it to a test and it worked perfectly. I was elated.
I shared my invention in the NEWS and my machine was very useful and it is still used right now. I love recycling and helping the Earth!
