One snowy morning, when the sun was rising and snow covered over the branches as white leaves, Ms. Pancake woke up with a big smile on her face. Her cat Fluff was having a cosy sleep and her dog Poodle was stretching. Ms. Pancake got out of her bed, got dressed and she put on her house slippers to keep her cosy. Poodle and Fluff freshened up and walked out feeling hungry for some delicious food.
Ms. Pancake thought of having scrumptious pancakes for breakfast. She took an old dusty book from the cupboard, which is her favourite recipe book and saw how to make the yummy pancakes!!
So Ms. Pancake took a bowl and poured in some flour. She went to take the eggs but there were no eggs. Poodle and Fluff were sad thinking they cannot have pancakes. Ms. Pancake went to the farmhouse and took some egg, but she did not know that Poodle had followed her and was watching!!
She went home and saw that she had no milk. She was disappointed. Ms. Pancake and Fluff went to get some milk from the cowshed. She milked the cow and the cow continued eating hay. Fluff was thinking how long it was going to take. Then Ms. Pancake took the milk home and churned it for half an hour to make the butter. Then she scooped the butter and put it in a bowl.
Finally, she went to take the maple syrup, but the bottle was empty. Not again, she was sad. She dressed in her best clothes and went to her neighbour and asked for some maple syrup. Her neighbour gave her some maple syrup. She thought in her mind how she was going to make the yummy pancake and was excited.
But when she came home the flour was all over the place, Poodle had eaten the eggs and Fluff had drank the milk. Ms. Pancake was so shocked that she dropped the maple syrup bottle!! Her yummy pancakes flew away in her mind.
She removed her shrug and sat down after all the hard work and disappointment. Then she got the delicious smell of the scrumptious pancakes from her neighbour’s house. So, she quickly wore her shrug and went to her neighbour’s house even though she was not invited and happily ate some pancakes. Her neighbours were shocked.
Then she came home and slept happily on her rocking chair with Fluff and Poodle beside her.
