One day as I was watering the tomato plant, I saw a nibbled leaf. I was feeling sad. Then I saw a tiny caterpillar 🐛. It ate a bit of a leaf in my tomato plant.
I thought of keeping it as my pet and take care of it. I named her Stellaluna. I brought her home in my insect box with a magnifying glass. I thought of feeding her some spinach and tomato leaves, since spinach is healthy. Oh oh!! But she ate only the tomato leaf leaving the spinach. Then I realized that she eats only the leaves of the plant on which she hatched on.
After few days Stellaluna made herself a pupa. Then I didn’t have to feed her. On those days I just watched and waited to see if she is a butterfly or a moth. I patiently waited for her to come out as an adult after the metamorphosis.
After many days she came out as a pretty moth 🦋. The next day, I took the insect box to school to show Stellaluna to my friends.
Then I took her back home and I let her fly away.
So that she can pollinate and make beautiful flowers!!!
