Fun in the beach during sunsrise

Something worth waking up early for

I had to wake up really early to go the beach and watch the sunrise.. 5am! Can you imagine??? I was feeling very sleepy. I changed from my PJs to my beach clothes. Then drove to the beach with my cousin. We discussed about what we would do on the beach.

When we reached the beach, we left our slippers in the car and walked with bare feel on the soft beach sand , taking our beach toys. Each of us took a beach tray and a shovel and ran to the shore. Do you know what we had planned to do?? We planned to collect as many crabs and clams as possible. I was scared of catching the crabs so was collecting the clams that the waves bring in. But my cousin was not scared of crabs. Infact, a crab bit him while he caught it and all he said was “ow” and continued to catch crabs! I collected some pretty shells by the shore. When the clams die, the shells are washed away to the shore. We added some sand and water to the tray. Then the clams started to open and move around.

Then we quickly dug a bit, kept our feet in and covered with more soil before the waves washed the sand away. It felt so good to be stuck to the sand like a rooted tree. When I jumped out on the waves, I could feel a lot of clams. I collected a few of them for my collection, before they dug themselves through the sand and before the next wave came in. The crabs were trying to climb outside the tray. I got scared.

We found a seaworm. We were very inquisitive, so added that to our collection tray. We were surprised to see what happened. The crabs chased the worm and it was swimming away from it. Finally the crab caught it and snipped it with its pinchers and nibbled them. Felt it was a very bad idea to have added the worm to our collection. But we got to see a game of chase!

Then the sun peeped out through the clouds and made the sea glitter. Looked very beautiful, but it started getting warm and sweaty. So we had to leave. Then we told our goodbyes to the crabs and clams that we collected in our trays and set them free by the waves on the shore.

Enjoyed some homemade cookies as we drove back home.

It was worth waking up very early to enjoy at the beach and watch the sunrise!
