coconut oil

Extraction and packaging

I recently visited a coconut oil factory. It is edible oil. I saw the process of manufacturing coconut oil.

First, the copra (dried coconut) is collected and it should have only 6% moisture, otherwise it has to be sundried or in a dryer during rainy season.

Next the copra is chopped into pieces by a crusher. Then the crushed copra is passed through a roaster to make the oil automatic.

After that the copra is passed through the expeller. The expeller 1 extracts the oil from the copra.

Then the extracted copra is passed through the expeller 2 with smaller teeth to extract the remaining oil.

Then the dry extracted copra is packed and sent as cattle field.

The extracted coconut oil is filtered and transferred to big containers and are ready to be packed.

Filling

First the bottles are passed through automatic machine. There is a motion sensor that senses if there is a bottle below it or not. If it is a 50 ml bottle, it will fill 50 ml using a funnel. There are 8 funnels, to fill 8 bottles at a time.

After the bottles are filled, the caps are put on the bottle and are sealed automatically.

Then they are packed in multipacks and packed into corrugated boxes and are sent in a lift.

In the same way, the oil is automatically filled in the pouches and sealed automatically.

Then the packed corrugated boxes are sent on the conveyer belt to load the truck which takes them to the warehouse.

The warehouse is a place where they store raw materials and finished products until they are required.

Then the oil would be sent to the Distributors -> Wholesalers -> Retailers -> End Consumers.

I had a fun experience in learning the process of manufacturing the coconut oil and packing the oil in the factory.

It was also good to learn how the manufactured products reach the consumers.
