ARNIE THE DETECTIVE

CHAPTER 1

ARNIE THE HANDSOME

Arnie the donut is from the Downtown bakery, the home of the best donuts A-round. I shall tell you more about Arnie.

First, Arnie was cut into a ring in the Ringy Dingy Donut making Thingy machine. He got a good shape and a hole in him to look sassy and cute. Next, he was deep fried in 375° hot oil . He loved it and said, “ It feels like being in a hot sauna.” The hot oil makes him more rolly polly.

Then, he was let to cool and chill at the beach along with other donuts. After that, he was ready to be iced at the Fifi icing parlor. He was decked up with sprinkled with colourful cool stuffs to make him look eye catching.

The handsome one was named Arnie!

CHAPTER 2

FUN WITH FRIENDS TURNS TO A MYSTERY

Arnie has a best friend named Sprinkle. Arnie and Sprinkle like to play boardgames - Downtown bakery’s monopoly and donut land They have lots of fun. They prefer playing indoor because they didn’t want their icing to melt.

One evening, Arnie noticed that Sprinkle was missing. At first he thought he was playing hide and seek with him. He looked for him in their usual hideouts and was sure that he would not have gone out as he would look nasty.

Arnie asked the baker,” Did anyone purchase Sprinkle?”

The baker said, “No one has purchased him!”.

Arnie was worried. He could not find Sprinkle anywhere. Arnie thought he must have been stolen by some donut thieves. Arnie thought of a plan to figure out the thief.

CHAPTER 3

ARNIE GETS AN IDEA

Then he remembered reading a poster on the wall of the Downtown bakery. It said be a detective in five hours and learn all the detective skills at the Downtown Detective school.

Arnie decided to get trained to be a detective at the Downtown Detective school. Arnie learns many detective skills.

• Gather clues and observe suspects

• Gather facts

• Fingerprint trailing

• Write detailed report on findings

Soon he had learnt how to be a good detective and had left the school with high merits. He also got the Downtown Detective school’s best student award.

CHAPTER 4

DETECTIVE AT WORK

Arnie started to look for trails with his magnifying glass and writes about them in his clue book. He found some teeny tiny clothes and shoes. He also found some donut crumbs leading to a hole under a clock. Arnie notices a trail of moving sprinkles. Then used his magnifying glass and saw some tiny creatures carrying the sprinkles of yummy donuts. When he looked closely he could see that they were tiny people. They were friendly to him and they told him that they are borrowers. Arnie researched about the borrowers. He found out a lot about them.

Borrowers are a family of tiny people who live secretly in the walls and floors of an English house and "borrow" from the big people in order to survive.

They had taken Sprinkle and some sprinkles because they wanted to use them as pool floaties, furniture and trampolines.

CHAPTER 5

HELPS THE BORROWERS

Then Arnie talked about the donut borrowers to the baker at the Downtown Bakery.

He requested the baker, “Please can you give some donut holes and sprinkles to the borrowers, so that my new donut friends don’t get stolen and Sprinkle can be rescued.”

The baker replied,” I would love to help the borrowers and Sprinkle is very lucky to have you as his friend.”

Arnie was very thankful.

When the borrowers returned Sprinkle for the donut holes and sprinkles, Sprinkle told Arnie that the borrowers were his friends. He introduced them to Arnie. Their names were little Arrietty, Homily and Pod. The baker told the borrowers that they could live in the tiny hole in the bakery wall and he will be sure to not let any mice get in. The borrowers agreed and every day Arrietty played with Arnie and Sprinkle. The common thing about Arrietty, Sprinkle and Arnie is that they all love nature. So they all go bird hunting and once they find the bird the drop some grains near it. But the most important thing is that the bird should not get distracted by the attractive donut smell.

CHAPTER 6

PEACE IN THE DOWNTOWN BAKERY

Thus Arnie became the most famous detective in downtown. He has also become friends with the borrowers and offered them some teeny tiny stuffs that he finds and would be of use for the borrowers.
