A little sparrow small and bright,
Soars through the sky at first light.
He tweets to all,
And brings cheer to all with every call.
His body is bright and brown,
With grey streaks on his crown.
Eats grains with his cone shaped bill,
And flies over the rounded hill.
He bathes in dust,
That is found on the Earth’s crust.
And splash around in the water,
Which creates chatter.
He plays a hero
To woo his female sparrow.
They often form a bond
Which lasts lifelong.
They build their nest close to the ground,
With grass and twigs found.
They breed in colonies
And are always together.
Spotted greenish white eggs glow in their nest,
Only for a fortnight they are at rest.
Parents take care of the hatchling
Which makes a cackling!
